Pierrik Malebranche

He graduated from Annie Fratellini’s circus school and then from the Marcel Marceau Mime School. He later joined the Marceau company before crossing over into contemporary dance. A performer for various choreographers (Frédéric Lescure, Philippe Chevalier), he also works with Philippe Decouflé or Jean-François Duroure for filming or events (opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Albertville).

Multiplying his experiences in very diverse fields, he has worked under the direction of Jean-Paul Goude and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and then performed at the Opéra du Rhin in a production by Alain Maratrat.

He founded the Doppelgänger company in 1994 and developed his own choreographic research with the dancer Véronique Velsch.
Concerned with permanently associating his creative work with a pedagogical activity, he directs numerous courses in France and abroad (Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Palestine, Peru, China…).
A performer with the Philippe Genty company between 2005 and 2015, he has since oriented his work towards a more visual theatre that integrates objects and materials.

Living in Argentina, in Mar del Plata for several years, he has led a career as a teacher and director, notably in partnership with the Teatro Auditorium – Centro Provincial de las Artes or the Argentine Ministry of Culture – Cultura Nacion
He also collaborates in the writing and directing of “Kokoro” with Carlos Agudelo Plata for the company “La casa del silencio” – Bogota – Colombia.
In 2016, he choreographed “Materiales”, for the National Contemporary Dance Company of Argentina and in 2017 obtained a grant from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina) for an adaptation of Moby Dick.

A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette, he takes part in the training project initiated by Mots de Tête Compagnie around the pedagogy developed by Philippe Genty and Mary Underwood.
