Theatre director, visual dramatist and physical actor.
Founder and artistic director of the National School of Physical Theatre in Colombia “LE GESTE”.
He began his training in 1979 with the theatrical workshop El Globo, graduated from the Instituto Popular de Cultura de Cali. Graduated in Dramatic Art at the Universidad del Valle. Graduated in 1992 from the International School of mime-drama of Paris Marcel Marceau, he was part of this company between 1992-2002 participating in the productions “Materia Prima” and “El Abrigo” by Nicola Gogol, directed by Carlos Cuevas and Marcel Marceau. He studied for a Master’s degree in Performing Arts at the University of Paris VIII.
He is a transmitter in Colombia of Etienne Decroux’s Corporeal Mime technique and the legacy of Master Marcel Marceau as a formative basis for the actor. He has taught at the main Universities and Theatre Schools in Colombia. In 1997 he founded in Bogota the Cultural Association Casa del Silencio – Maison du Silence, a Colombian company specialising in physical theatre. Awarded the IDARTES prize for directors 2016 with the project: “MANÚ” or the illusion of time, a show of physical and visual theatre.
