France

Claire Heggen is the artistic director of the Compagnie Claire Heggen-Théâtre du Mouvement, a research and creation company. Author, actress, director and teacher, she develops transversal skills from contrasting esthetics. She has created shows that have been performed in 60 countries, proposing an approach to the theatricality of movement that is constantly evolving, at the crossroads of the arts of mime, gesture theatre, dance and the theatre of materials and puppets. Claire Heggen also works at the crossroads between the arts within the framework of the Fondation des Transversales, the European Academy of the Arts of Movement.

She initiated the creation of the Groupe de Liaison des Arts du Mime et du Geste (GLAM). She teaches in many international schools and workshops in France and abroad. In 1988, at the invitation of Margareta Niculescu, she became a lecturer at ESNAM, where she taught practical research based on the body/object relationship (mask, materials, puppet) and was a member of the teaching council.

Claire Heggen received the International Puppet Institute Prize for transmission in 2015.

She programmes the training courses of the Théâtre du Mouvement – Claire Heggen, le corps – scène, as well as the artistic courses of the Ferme de Trielle.

She has also accompanied young artists for many years in their creative projects, whatever their artistic style.
