Célia Dufournet

Celia Dufournet is an actress and professor of Corporeal Mime.

Between 2011 and 2016 she studied and taught within de Mime Research Center directed by Thomas Leabhart in Pomona College California. Since her return in France, she teaches regularly for amateur and professional students (Theater Conservatory of Toulouse, Hippocampe Mime School, Theater of the Ring, etc.).

By combining her movement work with documentary research around contemporary issues, she has created two solos pieces: In Food Empire (2013) produced by Schkapf Theater at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and Blanche Neige Empoisonnée, conte de fées politiques (2015) produced by La Fabrique de Theatre in Belgium. She also works as an outside eye and actress for various physical theater productions: In Her Eyes (2017), directed by Irfana Majumdar in India ; La Nuit est tombée sur Ithaque (2019) et Fabula (2021) by Manon Crivalli, cie l’Essaimante ; Dédales (2020) by Michel Matthieu, cie Théâtre 2 l’Acte ; Du Pire Empire (to be released in 2022) by Dominique Collignon, cie La Colline. Her next mime piece, La Grande Soif, will portray a dystopia in which all drinkable water is controlled by a unique corporation called Volvac.
